On December 8th, the Speech and Debate Team competed at Veterans Memorial. the tournament results are as follows:

Adam Mondragon: Congressional Speaking, 8th place

Daniel Gardiner: Lincoln Douglas Debate, 3rd place; Novice Extemporaneous Speaking, 7th place

Kevin Craig: Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, 1st place

Team William (Juliet Jones, Morgan Kuchta, Ian Mintz, Richard Waterhouse): World Schools Debate, 2nd place

Team Benton (Arish Bawani, Daya Butler, Kevin Craig, Aamil Farishta): World Schools Debate, 1st place

Raina Pineda: Novice Poetry, 3rd place

Vanessa Zambrano: Senior Prose, 3rd place

Ben Anderson and Vanessa Zambrano: Duo Interpretation, 6th place

From December 7th to 8th, other members of the team also competed at the UT tournament. Genevieve Cox placed 7th in Congressional Speaking, while Anahita Farishta earned a TOC bid in DX and a NIETOC bid in Informative Speaking. Zoe Robinson also earned her second NIETOC bid for Dramatic Interpretation; she is now qualified to compete in DI at the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions.
