After a turbulent season, the 5-5 Ray Texans qualified for the playoffs for the second year in a row — now set to face the 9-1 Boerne Greyhounds as the clear underdogs.

The Texans’ last game against the 2nd district-ranked Miller Buccaneers was a nail-biter. They fought to the very end but came up short on the final play, losing 35-31. This was the closest game the Texans have had against Miller since their last victory in 2019.

This week, the Texans travel to Boerne to face off against the heavily favored 9-1 Boerne Greyhounds. This will be the Texans’ first time playing the Greyhounds. “Every year, a 1st seed upsets a 4th seed, don’t count us out,” said receiver Huzefa Ullah.

The first round of playoffs is set for this Friday, 7:00 p.m. at Boerne Greyhound Stadium. Spirits seem high, and the team is ready to go out and give it their all. “We’ll ride into their city on horseback and impose our will — sparing only women, children, and the elderly,” said safety Nicoli Hill-Zanoni. Whether the Texans have what it takes to keep their season alive will be decided this Friday.
