On April 4, CEO appointee Laura Weir of the British Fashion Council, announced that there will be no independent London Fashion Week in June, much to the surprise of the general public.
Instead, the BFC has announced that they encourage support for the Paris Fashion Week and continue the London Show Rooms in Paris during their Fashion Week, running from June 26th to July 1st.
BFC CEO Caroline Rush stated that the cancellation was to shift greater focus to menswear and the designers behind it, in order to“generate sales and develop their relationships with international media outside of a show environment, reinforcing our commitment to providing vital commercial opportunities for British designers.”
Meanwhile, celebrities were out in full force wearing their best designer looks at last month’s Paris Fashion Week.
Grammy-winning pop star Chappell Roan had appeared for multiple runways like Vivienne Westwood and Rick Owens, styled by Genesis Webb. Fellow 2025 Grammy winner Doechii also made an appearance, attending Chloé, Louis Vuitton, Schiaparelli, and more, styled by Sam Woolf.
Fashion Week dates for Fall/Winter 2024 are as follows:
- New York: September 11-16
- London: September 18-22
- Milan: September 23-29
- Paris: September 29-October 7
