Winter is in full swing in South Texas, students are bundling up as the temperature goes down and the styles are changing! Whether it’s cold inside or outside, students like to bundle up. Here is what the students are wearing at Ray!
A staple this season has been knit sweaters, whether they be oversized or cable knit, it seems everywhere I go I spot one. They’re usually paired with jeans or leggings, and a pair of sneakers or Ugg slippers, making a simple but sweet outfit that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the mood! I’ve seen similar things be done with cropped cardigans too! There’s also been a rise of flannel, a great fabric for keeping in warmth, and most outfits this season have come in darker colors, which comes in handy because they absorb more sunlight than lighter colors.
But my favorite thing about winter is all the possibilities for layering. Not only does it keep me warm, but I love to experiment with wearing my clothes in unconventional ways. I also adore wearing skirts in colder months (to every mother’s disapproval) because I adore how they look peeking out under my winter coats. But winter is also the time where I have my most lazy days, with the cold mornings making me want nothing more than to stay in bed all day long. Those days, I tend to reach for my corduroy overalls and a thick sweater or my warm houndstooth pants.
