If you haven’t heard already, the Eaton and Palisades fires are currently burning down the city of LA. These fires have destroyed hundreds of homes and killed over 25 people. These people have sacrificed their lives trying to protect their homes, with a significant amount of people who have been injured.
Why is this Happening?
You may or may not be wondering: what caused these fires? Though, with no confirmation at the moment, investigators are studying if the Palisades Fire were caused by the fireworks that were popped on New Years Eve. Along with this, it is possible that the Eaton fire was caused by an electrical transmission line within the Eaton Canyon area. How You and Others Can Help
To prevent these deadly fires, firefighters and officials have been spreading a pink fire retardant throughout the city. This bright substance is called Phos-Chek, which has successfully fought fires for over 50 years. Along with this, many people have volunteered to help those who are currently being affected by these fires, whether it’s by donating blood, volunteering in health services, or providing supplies and assistance in shelters.
