TranscribeGlass was created by two students Madhav Lavakare from Yale and Tom Pritsky from Stanford. It displays real-time captions for the deaf and hard of hearing. Inspired by the high cost of traditional aids, they aim to provide an affordable solution, with the beta version priced at $55. It’s possible in the future that TranscribeGlass can also help other groups like those with auditory processing disorder (APD) or ADHD. Furthermore, if this technology incorporates translation features it could also help immigrants and bridge language barriers.
