The W. B. Ray High School Seniors, including myself, have a Semester ahead of them. We say this is a ‘Semester’ rather than a semester because it will be a grueling few months of a precarious balance between school work, clubs, and applications for college, scholarships, and jobs. We applaud all the seniors who managed to complete their applications over the summer, and we empathize with students that have not yet completed theirs, as the seniors of the Ray Texan Times Newspaper are in the same boat. However, though our boat may be in tumultuous waters, we believe that it is worth the effort to keep working. Please, if you are a senior, do not let senioritis win against you for three (our top three, not the only three!) reasons:
- Perseverance will be important, no matter where you end up after high school.
- Your grades and attendance still matter; just because we are seniors does not mean we are guaranteed to graduate.
- The Ray Texan Times Newspaper believes in you!
For all the non-seniors, we hope that you take the timeless advice of everyone before you and complete your college applications early. For all the seniors, you can do this!!
