Groundhog Day!

On February 2, 1887, the world met its first rodent meteorologist. Now, the groundhog that everyone watches on this fateful day is nicknamed Punxsutawney Phil. The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club claims that Phil has been alive since 1887, but, due to the fact that the lifespan of a groundhog is significantly shorter than 135 years, it has been speculated that there have been multiple Punxsutawney Phils.

The superstition stipulates that, should Phil see his shadow on Groundhog Day, there are to be six more week of winter weather. This year, Phil saw his shadow, so we can expect more of a wonderful Corpus Christi winter this year!
