The Hearts and Minds Showcase before the event school featured school programs and performances. At the end of his keynote address, Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez announces the State of the District raised over $197,500 for CCISD’s Educational Fund. The event took place the Thursday before intersession, Oct. 9

In his presentation, during the Luncheon and Program, Hernandez highlighted achievements such as CCISD receiving a B rating from the Texas Education Agency and school expansions like the new campus at Hamlin Middle School and the opening of Lexington Middle School.

The cast of the CCISD fall musical “Aladdin Jr.” “interrupts”Hernandez’s speech and performs “Friend Like Me” from the show.

King High School’s fashion design CTE Program displays a piece called “In Danger to Endanger” during the Hearts and Minds Showcase.

Droid Rage FRC 3035 — Branch and Collegiate High School’s robotics program — presents a remotely controlled robot that receives PVC pipes called “coral” and places them in a reef. Earlier this year in May two Droid Rage teams won the 1A-4A Texas UIL State Championship.
